On All Soul’s Day, I dragged my boyfriend to an impromtu trip to my home island, Siquijor. It was a Saturday and we were expecting many people traveling but we got a not so pleasant surprise, not many were traveling that day, which made our travel time longer than usual because we had to wait for other passengers before boats would travel. We took the “land trip” route, which was supposed to be faster and cheaper than a boat trip or a fast craft trip.
Our road trip to the north of Cebu capped with a rainy and windy day at San Remegio. We were at Lingay Beach but the sea was rough and the wind made it dangerous for us to trek the water — not that I was very excited to do that also. It was a gloomy day but being in a different place and with different people gave me a different kind of energy. The beach resort is nothing extraordinary but I loved their arc of green vines, which I think made for a perfect backdrop for this vintage floral top I thrifted from Moalboal.
I am not a very outdoors-y person. I am one of those people who think watching/reading National Geographic and Discovery Channel is an outdoor adventure. But I love to travel, and I will travel to anywhere that is accessible by bus or foot (as long as it does not take hours). Because I am not an outdoors person, I don’t have proper outdoors gear. When we went to Bojo River, in Aloguinsan, few Saturdays ago, I wore a white vintage top that got dirtied with splatters of mud because we traveled by a non-airconditioned bus and I was seating near the window, a tricycle and a motorcycle.
My boyfriend and I spent one Sunday having another double date. We (actually, only my boyfriend) took maternity shots of our friend, Nestie and Jay-R, and had lots of fun even with the heavy rain. Our first (but not our last) maternity shoot. 😛 I love having photoshoots with friends because I can play a dream role, and they allow me to play a dream role, and we all have fun while being productive. How do you feel about imitation goods? Are you strongly against them? Do you think they’re okay? Or you (shrug shoulders)? I am not okay with imitation goods because I respect and admire creativity (but then there’s also fair use). I am also not okay with mass production and sweatshops and oppressive labor conditions. But I am human, and, you may take it against me, I have one imitation good that I still have with me. Guess what it is? (Maybe I will give it away after writing this post).
I’m wearing vintage eyelet blazer borrowed from the Shop, DKNY bodysuit (also worn here, here, and here), old denim shorts, vintage flats (also worn here), and imitation Louis Vuitton (also worn here and here).
