Dinner at the Tiny Apartment

We have a tiny apartment — only 18 square meters. But that doesn’t stop us from enjoying other people’s companies. Most days, it’s just me and my husband, and before one year ago, it was just me. We have my family stay with us when they visit us from Siquijor (all four of them), we also have my cousins when they are here in Cebu, and we also love playing hosts to my husband’s family. At one point, we have had probably 15 people inside for my birthday party. How do you host a dinner party in a tiny apartment? Continue reading “Dinner at the Tiny Apartment”

Stackable Mugs, Vintage-Inspired Kettle

DSC_6673Since I moved to a tiny apartment, I have started to be conscious as to the things I buy for myself and for the home as I do not have much space to store things and I don’t want to be bothered with too many things to arrange. One of the things I have been on a look-out for were stackable mugs. I’ve found a lot of stackable cups (especially those commonly used by hotels and catering companies), but I wanted mugs that could more than five sips of coffee or chocolate. I also wanted them to be cheap (my blog isn’t called “Thrifting Adventures” for nothing). Continue reading “Stackable Mugs, Vintage-Inspired Kettle”

Impromtu Table Setting at Grandma’s House

My grandmother is an unbelievable hoarder. I know that’s very typical of most women (and most grandmothers) who find use for even the oldest and most dilapidated can or bottle in the house. My grandmother never throws things away, and it’s impossible to start a conversation with her on purging. Purging is not in her dictionary. Often times though, my grandma’s being a hoarder is put to good use, especially when it comes to impromptu events when we need to set her table for guests — even if it’s just family.  Continue reading “Impromtu Table Setting at Grandma’s House”

How to Spruce Up A Rental with Cheap Frames

DSC_6576

Living in a rental is great for a lot of practical reasons, but could also be limited and limiting. I love my tiny apartment and it’s location, and while it doesn’t bother me that much, sometimes I feel constricted because my landlady prohibits attaching nails to walls. I am one to abide rules so I had to make do when it comes to decorating my “she-cave” using frames that were meant to be hanged. Because I could not afford art works (yet), I made do with what I think is art that I found from inexpensive sources. Continue reading “How to Spruce Up A Rental with Cheap Frames”

The Vow Interior

The kitchen at Leo and Paige’s apartment

I love house interiors. I obsess over them at Pinterest and on my free time, I watch home decorating/home makeover videos. I also watch movies during the weekends, and recently, I had a craving for movies starred by Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, Dear John, and The Vow). Magic Mike was fun and Dear John was touching, but The Vow had me with its interior decorations.  Continue reading “The Vow Interior”
