Let’s a take a break from the travel posts (but I would still blog some more travel-related posts next week because I have some backlog stories to share), and talk about outfits! Haha.. I was (and still am) seriously considering converting this blog into a travel blog because travel-related posts seem to be the more popular posts. But I just can’t resist the temptation of posting outfit photos because outfit photos were the core and the backbone of this blog since its creation. I will resolve to publish only one #ootd post per month because, the truth is, I also don’t go out often. Continue reading “July 2016 #OOTDS”
I was one of the millions of Filipinos enthralled by Thalia. I loved her hair, her perfect teeth, her eyes, the way her hands move when she speaks.. I was amused when there were rumors saying she had ribs removed to have such a tiny waist. I loved her hair, her hair!! But most of all, I loved her off-shoulder outfits. I was in high school when Rosalinda aired and I thought I would be like her when I grow up — funny, confident, and beautiful. I always dreamt of her off-shoulder outfits.
I have been missing from this blog for more than five months.. Yes, life has taken me out from it, but that is not exactly the reason why I have been silent for a long time. The truth is, I got lost. I felt a mid-life crisis in my blogging life and felt like I was in a cross-road and I didn’t know where to go. I thought my blog, this blog, no longer had any direction and I felt I have somehow outgrown “thrifting” and my thrifting adventures. Continue reading “OUTFIT | Throwbacks”
September was a busy month for me. I took a short course on bread making and baking at our town’s TESDA and would be home on most days tired with sore feet. We were not just baking, we were also washing tons of bowls, whisks, and pans, and scrubbing tables and floors. In between classes, I had time to relax to celebrate our island’s provincehood and take a quick stroll at our neighboring city, Dumaguete. Continue reading “September #OOTD (and some realizations)”
Last July, and probably, this year’s summer, was one of the best time of my life. My nephew was born, and while he invaded much of my apartment with his little things, toys, clothes, and cotton buds, I am super delighted with his smelly neck and his deep gurgling laughter. Also, my tita and her family came home and we got to hang out with our penguin of a cousin, who turned out to be wacky and as crazy as the rest of her cousins. And there was a wedding in July — and I wore lavender (again). Continue reading “Lavender Gown for a Wedding in July”
This month, I resolved to clean my small apartment and reduce the things I own — not that I own many things, but because I realized I never use some of those things and it was of no use keeping them. One of the first things to go were clothes, so I posted a message in Facebook asking my friends and acquaintances whether they’d want clothes. Many replied and I have packed some clothes for each person, although I have not gotten around to delivering/sending all of the packages yet. Anyway, because I was purging my closet (I managed to reduce it to 10 small baskets of clothes), I was able to finally wear the clothes I love that were gaining dust. Purging, and throwing away useless clutter, did not only help make my small apartment look more spacious, they also cleared my mind, as I finally let go of the emotions attached to the things I gave/threw. I’ve been asking myself if posting outfit photos are still relevant and interesting in my blog, knowing that I am not a fashion blogger. True, I love dressing up, I read fashion magazines and keep a few of them, I browse fashion websites, I keep myself updated in fashion trends, and even took some few minutes off my day browsing the #kimye wedding photos to check on Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress — I don’t love fashion. This is a #throwbackthursday #ootd, having been busy and preoccupied in my real life. In the once-a-year occasion of celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday, I also took the rare chance to wear my pair of jeans, paired with a vintage top, thrifted Salvatore Ferragamo flats, and gifted Charles & Keith bag.
Life’s been busy and fun lately so entries in my blog has been scant. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t take the time to take pictures of #ootd or outfit of the day, except I was too lazy to upload and write. I’m still loving vintage, maybe even more so. I’m also taking time to wear clothes and use accessories given to me as gifts from family and friends. Continue reading “#OOTD These Days”
I admit, I quite enjoyed our cold January weather. But the Philippines will always be a tropical country, and because it’s now March, I could not help but think of summer. I’m not a beach babe, and I don’t have anything in particular to look forward to this summer, but summer has always meant a long “vacation” for me.
