FOOD | Spanish Sardines Spaghetti

How was your long weekend? Mine was a regular long weekend, dotted with DIY and craft projects, family meals, and work. Today’s gonna be hang-over day for some people, so I’m sharing an easy to make, delicious and not very expensive pasta dish that you bring for lunch or whip up tonight after tackling your work backlog. I love this dish because it involves a good bottle of Spanish sardines, which I consider a luxury food.

Ingredients:

spaghetti
Spanish sardines
olive oil
garlic, optional
chili or chili flakes, optional
capers, optional

Procedure:

1. Cook noodles until al dente. I usually add salt to my pasta while they are cooking.

2. While pasta is cooking, saute garlic, chili flakes, capers and Spanish sardines in olive oil until the garlic is cooked. You can omit the garlic, chili flakes and capers, but I love garlic and the chili adds kick to the pasta.

3. Toss the pasta and the Spanish sardines sauce.

Serve this with warm garlic bread (from Kate’s!) and burn the carbohydrates off at Ala Gym!
